Weekly Summary of Task / Assignment

I worked on both the project ABBA's report writing and the Web URL Validator in the Eleventh Week.

"Issues surrounding the Building of an Autonomous Bibliography Building Agent" is the title of the report that both Indra and I are to do research on and gather information from various sources. Writing this report won't be easy as it requires lots of reading and understanding of the Bibliography retrieval system will work under conditions in the Internet to automatically build the bibliographic information into a standardised format for further searching later by users. Problems faced here was gathering data and what to add and not to add into the report to be handed up by Week Fourteen. In this week, I have nearly read through most of the notes that I have gathered from the National Library, KRDL Library and also from the Internet. As for the following week, I will work on this report and hopefully to complete it for submission at the end of the week. In this way, I can easily concentrate on my next task which is the Web Validator.

The Web URL Validator or known as "WebVat" was also one of the main task I worked on. Additional features are to be added into this Visual Basic Program. Features include creating a external file to store the organization's proxy server's name and port number and also to remove the *BAD* string after another validation that the link is valid again. At this point of time, I have only reached the validation portion (done two weeks ago) and will move into the listing of bad links as soon as the prior portion works properly. This task will be assigned to the following two weeks - Thirteenth and Fourteenth.

Other tasks include the searching of Robocup bibliographies and the Robocup Teams from Paris '98. This is an on-going task that both Indra and I will have to update it each alternate week. To conclude, I can say that working in KRDL is challenging and require lots of hard work to get things going.
